  Notes	Casimir May was born at the old town of Langendiebach, County of Upper Isenburg, now named, Erlensee, Germany, to Johann Wilhelm May 1716-1763 and Anna Elizabeth Schertel 1740-died about 1824. Paternal Grandfather Johannes Eberhard May, Great Grandparents Christoph May 1666-1740 and Anna Margretha Schneider 1679-1751. Casimir came to America on the ship Charming Molly, arriving October 19, 1773 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Casimir married Mary Horne between 1779-1780 in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. Mary is also buried at the Old Dutch Meeting House Cemetery. Casimir came to America aboard the Charming Molly with two friends, Andrew Emerick and Caspar Adam. Casimir's godfather was, Prince Johan Casimir von Isenburg-Birstein, born Dec. 9, 1715, died April 13, 1759. Casimir served in the Army during the Revolutionary War with the Pennsylvania Line. It is unknown why he migrated to Washington County, TN; however, it may have been that he passed through the area while in the Army and after his service took up farming there. Some conjecture is that he may have been involved with the battle of Kings Mountain. He applied for and was granted a pension for his Revolutionary War service in 1832 at Washington Co. Tennessee, at the age of 80. [1]
